The FE Iron Design project was an exercise in common object refactoring. The project broke down the interaction between a person and an iron through morphological matrices, environmental interaction charts and sketch prototyping to produce a more useful appliance. The result is the FE, an iron that employees its increased water capacity to improve the natural balance of the object and which also reacts to the pressure applied to it by the user. These subtle changes resulted in a more controllable and reactive iron.
